Family vacation

We drove to Oceanside, CA and stayed at the Wyndham Pier Resort. It was right on the beach! When we arrived there that night we took a stroll down the pier and had dinner. Michael and Shane hung out on the beach afterward. Then we all met up at the street fair near our hotel. The next day we took the kids to the Wild Animal Park in San Diego. It was Matthew's first time at a zoo. I'm not sure if he was too impressed. We went on a safari through the park where we got to see all sorts of African animals out in the wild. It rained all day Saturday, so we did things in doors. We went to the Aquarium near Legoland, and saw all sorts of cool fish. On our way home Sunday night we stopped at the Mormon Battalion visitor’s center. Where we watched a video and took a tour. It was such a neat place, and we all learned a lot more about the Mormon Battalion. It made us really appreciate all those men and their families, the sacrifices they went through for us. Michael also had fun dressing up as a soldier and panning for gold. I just have to thank my sweet husband for such a fun and memorable family vacation.
