Summer Vacation/Roadtrip

We flew into Boston, MA, and began the following day touring all the sites. Our first stop the Mayflower ll and Plymouth Rock.
Our next stop was the Plimoth Plantation. Matthew wasn't really scared of the bulls like I thought he was going to be.
This was one of Shane's favorite places that we visited. It was fun to visit this 17th Century English Village, and to experience how the Pilgrims would have lived.
Michael thought the cannons were awesome!
This is one of the timber-frames homes. There were people costume role playing who were portraying actual residents of the Plymouth Colony.
Michael and I went on the Swan boat. You can't really see Michael, I think he was more interested in feeding the ducks his sandwich on the side of the boat.
At Fenway Park where the Boston Red Sox play. I couldn't believe how big it was, and we got to experience it from way up top and in the press box.
Matthew looking out over the baseball field.
When we were at the Boston Public Garden's, this guy was blowing big bubbles and he let the kids get in on some of the action.
While in New Hampshire we drove the Mount Washington Auto Road, which is at a 6,288-foot peak. There were very strong winds as you can tell by my hair.
The train ride was fun taking us through New Hampshire, and we even saw a deer along the way.
We went to a mountain resort and they had all sorts of slides, and this trampoline that Michael kept trying to master the front flip. He was good at the back flip, but couldn't quit do the front.
Shane braving the trampoline. He didn't do too bad for a 33 year old. ;)
One of the many slides that you could ride clear to the top and then slide back down.
Here we are at the Flume Gorge.
We finally convinced Michael to climb through this cave, and here he is at the end of it climbing back out.
We were in Vermont for a short time and visited the Joseph Smith Birthplace. The above picture was taken in the Sacred Grove in Palmyra, NY. It was so beautiful and peaceful, and such a wonderful testament of where Joseph went and where the vision took place.
The Grandin building where the Book of Mormon was published. Shane is an avid Book of Mormon and Hymnal collector. He mostly collects Hymnals, but any chance he can get to learn about the publication part all the more better.
Going on the Maid of the Mist Boat at Niagara Falls. Thank goodness for the rain jackets. :) It was neat, they took us right up close to the falls.
The boys getting some extra energy out clowning around on the grass.
Our last stop was in Kirtland, OH, where we visited the Temple and other historical sites.
I thought this was cute!
We found this beach to pass the time before we had to leave for our flight home. Michael dug a big hole in the sand.
A very tired crew, but we all sure had a fun vacation.
